The Business Studio is Etihad Airways' spacious and luxurious business class seat. It features a staggered 1-2-1 layout offering forward and rear-facing seats, but does not include a privacy door.
What Is Business Studio?
Business Studio is Etihad Airways' business class seat product, featuring a staggered 1-2-1 configuration that gives every passenger direct aisle access. Unlike Etihad's higher-tier First Apartment and The Residence, Business Studio does not include a privacy door, positioning it as an open, semi-private business class seat rather than a fully enclosed suite.
Etihad introduced Business Studio as part of a cabin overhaul tied to its widebody fleet renewal, rolling it out on new-delivery Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The seat replaced Etihad's older reverse-herringbone business class product and was designed to compete with door-equipped suites from Qatar Airways, Delta, and others by emphasizing space and bed length over full enclosure.
Key Features
Business Studio uses a 1-2-1 staggered layout, alternating forward-facing and rear-facing seats down the cabin to maximize personal space and privacy angles without walls. Each seat converts into a fully flat lie-flat bed. The design includes a fixed side console for storage and dining, a large personal entertainment monitor, and direct aisle access from every seat, regardless of window or middle-pair position. The absence of a door distinguishes it from Etihad's First Apartment and The Residence, which sit at the front of the cabin on select aircraft.
Airlines & Aircraft
Business Studio is exclusive to Etihad Airways. It is installed on the airline's Airbus A350-1000 fleet and its Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners delivered as part of Etihad's post-2019 widebody rollout. Older Etihad aircraft still operating with legacy business class configurations do not carry this product, so seat maps should be checked by aircraft type and tail number before booking.
Traveler Tip
Confirm the specific aircraft type on your Etihad itinerary before booking, since Business Studio only appears on newer A350 and 787 deliveries — older 777s and A380s use a different business class seat. CEOFLIGHTS specialists can help find discounted fares — call (888) 851-6897.
